Indoor air quality for improved indoor home health

Spring is here! Daffodils are popping up, lawn mowers are back in action and time is being spent at the ballpark. While we enjoy the warmer outdoor temperatures, many people suffer from seasonal allergies. Your home's indoor air quality can make a significant difference as allergens can be removed from the air, making it easier for you to breathe.

Trane CleanEffects can reduce the presence of allergens in your home, including dust, pet hair, fungus and more by as much as 99%. Complete home humidification control works with your home heating system to protect your furniture and windows. These options create a healthier environment in your home.

Enjoy spring and all the outdoor activity that goes with it. Open your windows on a beautiful day. Go for a walk in the evening. Then come home to your own healthy air…

Your furnace needs clean air to breathe. Clean filters keep debris away from your furnace, helping it to operate efficiently. Allergens, pet dander, remodeling dust and more can make your filter get dirty quickly.

Check your filter regularly and change it when necessary. This is one easy step in caring for your furnace and helping it to last longer.

It’s important to know about your home’s heating and air conditioning but it’s also important to have some fun – with food. Gardens are beginning to produce summer vegetables and salsa is a great way to enjoy fresh veggies. Pineapple salsa is a refreshing favorite. Enjoy!

Pineapple Salsa

1 cup diced pineapple

1 cup diced Roma tomatoes

1/3 cup chopped cilantro

¼ cup minced red onion

½ minced jalapeno

2 tablespoons lime juice

Mix this all together and refrigerate to chill.

“It’s not the heat, it’s the humidity!” How many times have we all heard this statement?

The storms that have come through central Wisconsin in the last week may have brought too much moisture into your home. Damage to homes gave rain an easy way in and power outages caused humidity increase in homes because the air conditioners couldn’t run. We can help!

Whole home dehumidifiers can be permanently installed onto your home’s heating & cooling system. A dehumidifier will automatically distract moisture from the air in your home. Too much moisture can cause mold to grow, warp wood and make your home uncomfortable. Protect your home and be comfortable when you’re in it – install a dehumidifier before the summer really heats up!

If you find that it doesn’t operate well, give us a call. In the meantime, enjoy the warm weather and have a nice cool ice cream cone. After all, it is June Dairy Month and we are the dairy state!

The water heater is an essential part of your home comfort but it is often neglected for maintenance. Maintenance on your water heater can be done at the same time that your furnace and/or air conditioner are checked and can lengthen the life of the unit. Often, after a water heater checkup, a home owner will notice that the unit is operating much more efficiently. When you call us for maintenance on your heating or air conditioning, remember to give some care to your water heater too. You don’t want to be left in the cold – shower – this summer!
